For one of our multinational customers we are searching for
a Category Manager chemicals for their head office near Brussels, Belgium.
The Position
As a category manager chemicals at the Brussel head office you will become responsible for a range of chemicals for their European and Asian Offices (EMEA). You will proactively professionalize the procurement organization and you will achieve important savings.
You will proactively professionalize the procurement organisation and you will achieve important savings in co-operation with the Procurement Manager. You will report directly to the Procurement Manager, develop the strategic EMEA purchasing and sourcing strategies and improve supply chain processes. You will have a direct reporting line to the Procurement Director EMEA.
Responsibilities:
Global Procurement and sourcing of chemical commodities for the European and Asian offices,
Improving the strategic procurement and supply chain organization,
Provide overall leadership for your chemical categories, management, supplies and services across EMEA,
Drive and manage regional and site cost reduction,
Manage and maintain the procurement budgeting and reporting; develop appropriate tools for performance and compliance monitoring,
Create competitive advantage through the development and implementation of effective supply strategies that deliver lowest total cost, insure security of supply, and build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers,
Negotiate and implement contracts that deliver competitive advantage,
Establish supplier selection, management and evaluation processes,
Set and drive initiatives regarding Sourcing strategies, industry outlooks, price forecasts and supplier management plans that meet business requirements,
Ensure compliance with purchasing policies, procedures and ethics and adherence to relevant laws and industry regulations.
Requirements:
You have 4 - 6 years experience as a Category Manager chemicals at a large global organization,
A university degree including additional Procurement & Supply Chain Management educations,
Strong communications skills with all internal levels and external constituencies,
An effective negotiator with strong interpersonal skills,
Experience of working within a multicultural environment is a prerequisite,
Ideally will have experience in supply development, global Sourcing, e-commerce, best purchasing practices,
Must be analytical, broad business understanding,
Strong business ethics and integrity.
